LD Celulose received on Wednesday, September 8, a delegation of authorities from the city of Prata. Participated in the visit mayor Marcel Vieira Rodrigues da Cunha, vice-mayor João Batista Silva Oliveira, town attorney Fernando Moraes Lemes, council vice-president Jair Pires, besides secretaries and councilmen. The visitors were welcomed by the general project manager Claudinei Santos, forestry manager Cláudia Steiner and her team of coordinators, environmental and social. In addition to presenting details of the mill’s construction, sustainable production process of dissolving wood pulp and environmentally sustainable practices, the visit had an important approach regarding future partnerships in relation to forests. Prata is located approximately 200 km from LD Celulose. Due to its productive potential, it is a very important region for the company, which already has forests there. During the visit, the LD Forestry Area team met with the mayor of Prata to present Forestry activities in the region (land, environment and people). "We are honoured to be part of this enterprise, aiming at new partnerships not only in the supply of raw material, but also in labor and other possibilities. It will be a relationship of many years and we are excited with the new opportunities," said Mayor Marcel Vieira.
