Dissolving Wood Pulp

Dissolving wood pulp is the result of LD Celulose’s work, and we are very proud to work with a product of such high chemical purity, which is used in so many essential products in our lives. The dissolving wood pulp produced is acquired by Lenzing and used in the production of viscose, modal and lyocell fibers. Among the multiple applications for dissolving wood pulp are the manufacture of clothing and shoes, hygiene and beauty products, varnishes, enamels, tires, medicine capsules, food products such as yogurt and ice cream and LCD screens.

Clean Energy

In addition to the manufacture of dissolving wood pulp, the eucalyptus wood extracted from our forests is also used as fuel to generate electricity for the LD plant, thus ensuring a renewable energy source for industrial operation. More than 50% of this energy, generated from the biomass resulting from the plant’s production process, is sold and distributed in the national energy distribution network.

We produce specific dissolving wood pulp for the manufacture of viscose, lyocell, and other non-woven fabrics, such as those used in facial masks, baby wipes, cleaning cloths and disposable diapers. Unlike wood pulp directed to paper production, dissolving wood pulp, which is not liquid, is a purer and more complex product.

Production Chain

LD Celulose is in the first stage of a sustainable production chain with low environmental impact. From it, clothing, hygiene and beauty products are made from biodegradable fibers that respect nature.

Production steps

Inside the plant, eucalyptus trees are transformed into wood chips which, after being processed, originate dissolving wood pulp.

All the dissolving wood pulp produced is exported to Lenzing's mills in Asia and Europe. In these factories, the dissolving wood pulp is processed into textile fiber with a low environmental impact.
