Sustainability has become an increasingly important pillar for LD Celulose, promoting environmental initiatives such as the implementation of ecological corridors to connect green areas and preserve biodiversity. In 2024, the company planted 55,549 native tree seedlings on its farms, creating natural paths that favor the movement of fauna and the regeneration of vegetation.

The corridors implemented by the company are natural paths that facilitate the safe movement of fauna, promote seed dispersal and contribute to the restoration of native vegetation. “With these initiatives, LD Celulose reaffirms its commitment to the regeneration of nature, the promotion of biodiversity and carbon neutralization, guaranteeing a more sustainable future for future generations,” says Camyla Strack, the company's environmental analyst.

As well as following strict environmental criteria and complying with current legislation, the company constantly monitors these areas, monitoring the growth of seedlings, the presence of animals and the quality of the vegetation. When necessary, replanting is carried out to ensure the effectiveness of the corridors.

The benefits of these actions are wide-ranging: greater geographical distribution of fauna, restoration of native flora, maintenance of soil fertility and food supply for various species. In addition, ecological corridors encourage the diversification of flora and strengthen ecosystem services.

The company also expanded its environmental impact by distributing more than 1,000 seedlings during Environment Week 2024 to its employees, encouraging them to take a piece of biodiversity home with them. Another 200 seedlings were given to the community near the company's forests, promoting reforestation and environmental awareness.
