LD Celulose announces Environmental Education Program selected projects: LD Celulose

LD Celulose announces this Monday, July 5th, the three socio-environmental projects selected in the Environmental Education Program notice. The action aims to promote sustainable development and environmental awareness in future plant neighboring communities. The three selected projects belong to non-profit associations of the third sector, with projects in Araguari and Indianópolis.

Associação Recreativa Bloco Maculele, selected in first place, will receive R$ 60 thousand to develop activities of Caravana Ambiental do Triângulo. Zulu Cufa association, ranked second, and will receive R$ 20 thousand to carry out Cerrado de Água project – Environmental Education, and the revegetation of the slope at Vereda das Araras in Araguari. And in third place is the Associação Amigos de Francisco, also awarded R$20 thousand to develop the Sustainable Food project. “We seek to contemplate projects whose proposals provide for awareness and effective transformations so that we can, together, act in this collective challenge that is preservation and socio-environmental sustainability in our region”, says Ana Claudia Covacic, specialist in Community Relations at LD Celulose.

The projects were analyzed by a judging committee made up of representatives from LD Celulose and the consulting company EKOS Environmental Planning. The next step is the presentation of the proponents' documentation and its conference. The awards ceremony will take place on July 30th.

each project will be monitorred for three months. During this period, LD Celulose will monitor the selected practices and projects, which will be verified “in loco” by the Judging Committee. Those awarded must submit reports on the execution of activities and a report on project expenses, at the end of the execution.

1º	Associação Recreativa Bloco Maculele	Caravana Ambiental do Triângulo	Organization of the Triângulo Environmental Caravan, with lectures in public schools on environmental preservation, string recitals and viola challenges with improvisers, addressing the theme of environmental preservation. Publication of a cordel booklet promoting environmental preservation and restoration, and planting seedlings of native Cerrado species, dedicated to the victims of COVID-19, in Araguari and Indianópolis.
2º	Zulu Cufa	Cerrado e Água - Educação ambiental para re-vegetação da vertente na Vereda das Araras em Araguari	Art Education Workshops, as an instrument of awareness and mobilization, with a focus on environmental themes, especially the Cerrado and the footpaths, which are so important to the region. The workshops will have themes such as the relevance of environmental preservation, the principles of the 3 Rs of Sustainability, the possibility of generating income with the reuse of materials. To complete the project, seedlings will be planted at the source of the Represa das Araras.
3º	Associação Amigos de Francisco	Alimentação Sustentável	Sustainable Food Project aims to create a cyclical flow between organic garden products, soup production and composting, aiming at feeding the families assisted by the association and raising their awareness of the benefits of the practice of home gardens, which promote healthy eating , especially when all the components of each product are used to the full, and, finally, the separation of residues and return of organic residues to the soil, restarting the cycle.
